I didn't take any pictures at Mankato, but the Garrison and South Lindstrom pictures are up in the gallery

I finally got around to sorting through the pictures and uploading them to the gallery. I just put a few of them on the site. There are many more available if you want them.

It's taken me a while to get caught up on uploading pictures, but I'm finally caught up now.

Ice conditions continue to improve as the season goes on, but we're still looking for the car counts to catch up to the ice growth.

Kudos to BIR for putting on a great race weekend. A great track, with everything we could want for the weekend made for smiles all around. Really clean racing made up for more than the usual amount of mechanical failures.

The final weekend of the 2007 IIRA season was an interesting one. Big hard snowbanks ended up with many fewer tows that I'd expected - they were hard enough that cars weren't getting in deep enough that their momentum wasn't able to get them out, and they were high enough that, in general, they weren't able to get on top of them to get stuck.

Bucky managed his first pole position in the solo race, and held the lead until only about 4 laps from the end of the race.

Another exciting weekend, with a need to start out marking the track with lathe just so the racers could see where the track was supposed to be, to needing the lathe the next morning to find the track under almost a foot of snow. Mike Ehlringer is feeling the pressure now, with 3 consecutive endurance wins with Bill Nelson and Dick Nordby in the 01 car.

Another fine weekend of racing had the 01 car of Bill Nelson, Dick Nordby, and Mike Ehrlinger winning their second endurance race in a row.

As with last weekend, I sorted through the pictures and only put up a few of the better pictures.

After a season opening weekend in Thunder Bay, and some scrambling around locally looking for lakes with sufficient ice, we finally opened the US leg of the IIRA season in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, courtesy of the Paradise Landing Restaurant.

Different than other weekends, I selected out a few of the over 400 pictures and ended up putting up only about 34 pictures. If I missed anybody, and they want their car included also, just let me know. I've got lots more to potentially put up.

While IIRA did cancel the event scheduled to run on South Lindstrom, the Garrison Commercial Club ran a non-sanctioned event, aimed towards the local drivers in the area. Any ice racer was welcome to attend, however.

Another good weekend of racing is over, with one more race on the schedule. Pleasant weather on Saturday turned into crummy weather on Sunday, with one worker not making it to the track at all, having visited the ditch on the way, and racers commenting about almost ending up in the ditch themselves on the way.
